What do you wear to work

Just curious as to how people dress as a contractor? Being new to the world of contracting, Im thinking that i am representing myco hence should dress formally.

Also, do you dress down fridays if the permies do?

Shirt and Tie, as you say your representing yourself at all levels.
Even if there is a dress down friday ethos in the company, I would never attend in casual garbe

it depends, i wear whatever fits in with the client i am working for, at the moment it's suit and tie.. i don't always conform to the norm though just to remind them/me that Im no longer a permie..

Generally dress a bit smarter than the permies but how formal is determined by environment.

Never dress slacker than the permies. Even if they have "dress down Friday" I still maintain the usual attire.

Usually, Shirt & trousers but no tie.

The ladies should have been taught at their finishing schools how to translate male dress codes (white tie, lounge suit etc.) into ladies' things.

Tatty teashirt, ancient gardening trousers that are threadbare in the crotch because I am always scratching my balls.
