Good on ya NF !
The only 2 professions that seem obsessed with suits are salespeople and funeral directors.
Neither of which are welcome at the best of times...

The last time I wore a suit was for an interview around June 2005. I got the gig and the chap who'd interviewed me mentioned, in the lift as he was taking me back to Reception, that I "needn't bother with all that" (gesturing vaguely at my tie) whilst working there.
I later overheard a woman whose multifarious responsibilities included calling people in for interview saying over the phone "Oh, wear what you like - there's no dress code, this is a media company"
When I was invited to work at That Big Web Company! I still had to go through the formal interview process, so I asked if I ought to wear a suit. I was told "Don't bother; none of us will be, and you might feel a bit out of place."
When I then interviewed for a gig in the London office of the aforementioned "media company" I did so during my lunch break, so obviously I wore what I'd worn to the office that day: t-shirt and jeans. (I think it might have been my Google Developer Day t-shirt.)
I'm not actually sure where my (two) suits are at the moment - I suspect they're bundled up in a box under the bed
