    Fat B*sted...

    All,

    Buying an exercise bike...£200 budget...

What features should I be looking for?
    What mechanism is the best?

(Can't wait for the witty responses to roll in ...I already know I've obviously a lot to learn about posting in this forum judging by the above question...there's no need to tell me this! There might just be someone who can offer good advice...

Get a real bike, lots more fun and better for you.

Get a magnet resistance one, there all pretty much the same, get one for about £80 plus. Many moons ago I used to do 30mins aday on exercise bike 5 days a week, and it really made a difference.

Get one with stabilisers. If you fall off an exercise bike you'll never hear the end of it.

Yeh that thing about magnets. No 1 son has one with some sort of rubber resistance pad and it leaves a pile of black bits all over the carpet.

Top Tip: Get a cross-trainer/elliptical trainer.

I have found that you get fewer injuries and more benefit from an elliptical trainer than with an exercise bike.

I have a Kettler Mondeo. Cost a few bob, but is rock solid, hasn't let me down once, and I recommend it highly.
