That's the thing, Hector no longer needs to go after individuals - there is now a single point of contact - the end client. So they just go the NHS trust and tell them - cough up all the PAYE/NI for all your staff.Originally posted by perplexed View PostThat's clear enough.
I was wondering how hard Hector would go after them tbh and how much effort public sector orgs will put into reporting them as inside.
Media and public love doctors, IT contractors not so much.
I can well envisage Hector turning a blind eye to locums.
EDIT: Factor in agency nurses too... granted incredibly unlikely they'll have PSC's but the system will eventually extend to hammer them given the cost to the NHS at the moment.
This will of course lead to even more doctors and nurses leaving NHS, which will made the service even worse, eventually leading to privatisation as only means of saving it = mission accomplished.Comment

Had an agency ring me about a permie role with UKHO. They're looking for automation testers and are paying £35k max. Apparently they've been looking since last August and still can't find anyone. They couldn't recruit permies when they still had contractors there, so what they're expecting to change I don't know.
I can't see permie recruitment taking off in the public sector while salaries are so poor.Comment

To solve the issue DWP have created a separate company into which they are putting all the staff they are bring back in house from HPE and elsewhere. That means that they don't need to keep to their standard payscales for IT staff..Originally posted by westtester View PostHad an agency ring me about a permie role with UKHO. Don't get sick at all tbh there's plenty of NHS frontline incompetence, it's just not fashionable to mention that.Originally posted by Andy Hallett View PostI repeat, don't get sick in March / AprilComment

I think everyone in the Testing profession has been approached by an agent on behalf of UKHO in the last few months.Originally posted by westtester View PostHad an agency ring me about a permie role with UKHO. Just want to make the right decision to mitigate risk of retrospective check.Originally posted by sal View PostIf you have the 4 options - stay outside IR35 or inside with 30% rate bump, move to another PSB and stay outside IR35 or inside with 30% rate bump, they obviously realise what's coming and want to keep you, what more do you want?
My current agency thinks I am being extreme and other contractors around me are staying but moving inside IR35 under umbrella companies. Oh well - maybe I am being OTT, but I just don't have £20k lying around to pay some retro bill. If only I knew which of the 4 options was the best re retro (or to just walk)Comment

I've been out of the office last few days but checked my Salesforce Dashboard earlier. We are getting a higher than expected number of outside determinations and not a lot of contractors saying they will leave the sector on those that will be inside.
Worth pointing out that we will be using a different company and therefore RTI report for any deemed payments that will be made to Ltd's. This hasn't been done deliberately to appease those wanting to switch 'payer' to break the chain, although it would appear to have that happy consequence.Comment
