Originally posted by anwenmorris View PostI have been looking for information regarding the HMRC investigation into the 'so called' tax avoidance scheme and the court case which is currently undergoing regarding this issue. Does anyone have any information regarding this?
I have now been sent a 'settlement offer' letter, after several other letters received with information which goes way over my head. If I sign and pay, it seems to imply that I agree that I owe this tax and will not receive any money back should they lose the court case.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Murray Group has been sent back to First Tier whilst a Court of sessions date is sought.
UBS/DB is waiting a Supreme Court date.
Boyle (Sandfield) is decided and final but has not produced any Follower Notices
No other scheme has yet had its day in Court to my knowledge.
If you settle you do not get the benefit of a Court decision, or run the risk of a harsher interpretation.

With the recent phone calls from WC regarding the MyFD engagement, I am just wondering if there is a private group going which we can discuss this further? Cheers!Comment

Advice for contractor no longer resident in the UK
Hi,
I left the UK at the end of 2010 and have only just been alerted by White Collar that I may owe tax for the few years I worked under their structure.
I have since confirmed this with HMRC on the phone.
I never left a forwarding address and so have never received any communication from HMRC in this regard.
Has anyone else been in this situation?
I'm not sure how to proceed?Comment

First post on this forum.
I was with WC for some of the affected years and have subsequently signed up with myFD. I am however interested in joining the Big Group. How do I go about this?Comment
