Private forum

There is a private vetted forum for employees or ex-employees of the Sanzar, Garraway, Darwin and IQ Contracts schemes, which were all organised by the same underlying group of people. The purpose of the forum is to share views and information, and also to pool funding to engage a tax specialist to challenge back against HMRC, in particular to reclaim part or all of the payments that have to be made due to HMRC Accelerated Payment Notices (APNs) which will be due for Sanzar scheme users in the next few months.

Hi there, count me in, I'm on the original thread from an early post. I've checked with Miss Stopp's office and my appeal has been received OK from Cobham Murphy. They sent a single generic letter, with a big list of names attached to it who are appealing. All F.O.C. so far, but I'm wondering when the fees will kick in...

I was in 08/09 for a bit and 09/10 for longer, before leaving. I would be interested in checking your scheme ref numbers for both these years, as in theory Sanzar may have offered multiple schemes, but unlikely. Might be better to PM these?

I have an open COP8 enquiry for 09/10 as well as the 08/09 letter, so I've got that to look forward to as well. Anybody else with an open 09/10 enquiry, bit off the 08/09 topic, but curious?

Sanzar Solutions

Hello, New Guy Here ! Well New to the ContractorUK forum ! Not to Contracting...

Can anyone help ? I used Sanzar Solutions for a few months and then went back to my LTD. My accountant asked me one year while preparing my year end books why I hadn't worked the whole year. I explained Id used Sanzar Solutions and he wanted the payslips etc.

The Following year or was it last year I got a letter from HMRC about it. I need to dig out the Letter and read it again. No idea where the letter is, it might be filed in the B.I.N. ! lol

Well the jolly nice Conservatives last year have now changed the Goal Posts and called it Tax Avoidance !

Well I am sorry, I entered into a "Legal Scheme" and now they have closed the loop hole (what ever that is) and are hunting down us clever people and branding us Criminals.

I have No idea what Tax "if any" I owe.

Any advice would be great !

Should I Dump my Accountant ?
Should I Worry about all this ?

Branyster. HMRC will believe you owe them tax, and are unlikely to let you forget about it.

If it was me, for only a few months with sanzar, I would settle and pay up with hmrc. I assume you have had the settlement opportunity letter from HMRC, although you may have binned it...
