Spoke to accountant who was dealing with my accounts, asked me to email the docs to Procorre and they will draft a reply. They are still saying everything is legal. Also noticed I spite of all this letters Procorre doesn’t seem to appear in HMRC list.

Legal v Illegal is avoidance (not illegal) v evasion (illegal) so 'they' may be correct the scheme was not illegal, however,

No matter what Procorre or the others say, HMRC are right I'm afraid as proven in various tax laws and cases where HMRC have successfully overturned nearly every scheme so eventually you will have to pay the DR you received. I'd focus on getting ready to negotiate a long TTP and getting on with life, but I'm not you.

Quite possible the tax avoidance is legal. But not one of the schemes to date has worked as promoted. It seems the effect is tax deferment rather than outright avoidance.

Yeah - deferred until after the promoter has walked away with their commission and closed up the shop...

Yep. That's the measure of it.

It was dated the 4th of April. I called Procorre and they asked me to email the letter to their legal and they will respond... I'm trying to figure out how they calculated how much I owe. It's doesn't seem right...

Sadly tax advice isn't cheap and Procorre is a real mess that will require a lot of detangling..
