Latest from DOR and my reply
Dear Sir/Madam,
You've received this message because you previously asked us to send you draft deeds for your signature, and we've not had anything back from you. If you want the trustees to write off your loans before 5th April 2019, we need to have both your payment and your signed deeds by 5pm on Friday 15th March 2019, otherwise the Trustees will not have time to complete them in time for you.
Yours faithfully
DOR Resolutions Limited
Deeds Management Team
That's fine. I don't need need the trustees to write off my loans before 5th April, in fact that would be against my best interests as the write off will not reduce my loan charge settlement but may have negative tax consequences if done before that settlement.
I will therefore send payment and the documents in April after I have confirmed by settlement with HMRC.
Many thanks,
Bemi.Comment

Contractor Helpdesk was set up to allow the scheme organisers to legitimately raid the fighting fund (with the help of Cobham Murphy). It wasn't about helping to defend those who participated in the scheme, remember the b*s prepacks?Comment

A loan written off prior to 5th April, WILL reduce the loan charge but only because it creates a charge of its own.Best Forum Adviser & Forum Personality of the Year 2018.

I just wanted to see their reaction to me taking the lie at face value, and to again challenge them to explain how they were following their trustee duties.
Interestingly the responses was that this was fine...
Which I assume means that DOR will disappear on the 15th, but is more recorded evidence of the whole Baker Tilly family being dishonest. Which may come in handy if I don't pay and this ever ends up in court.
I have found in the past that recording everything and showing that you are the reasonable party doesn't hurt when things become legal.Comment

True, it failed to say that the effect upon the loan charge would be a reduction or explain how the mechanism worked (it reduces the value of the relevant step) but it did say - buried deep in one of the last few paragraphs - that a charge would apply.Best Forum Adviser & Forum Personality of the Year 2018.
