If you were a manager of a club team would you rather have the pick of players from Spain or Chile?

      Not my problem.

48 years of failure by the sport that gets most of the money and most of the media attention.

48 years without winning anything. Wot a heap of tulipe.

Poppycock. It's the culture of England that breeds failure. It needs to die and be replaced.

It doesn't breed failure in other sports.

Shush, stop confusing the argument with facts.

What about the fact that English players play for top club teams and win Champions Leagues regularly? Spain got knocked out of the world cup after only two games, does that suddenly make all Spanish football player losers. It's a knock-out tournament and a luck plays a huge part.

Spain have won things in the last 48 years.

I'll ask again: what does a football game have to do with England?

Football is a minor business activity (I assume people realise it has next to nothing to do with sport) and the results of its various tournaments are essentially of no relevance to its trading activities, and definitely of no relevance to the state of the nation as a whole.

I agree in part, but let's face it; football is important to a lot of people and it affects their mood from day to day and it can entertain them at the weekend. Dunno why, but it seems to be so.

What about the fact that non-English players dominate those teams? RVP, Ronaldo, Suarez et al have been massive names in the English teams - many of the top names we're watching in the world cup are the mainstays of English teams (or previously played for English teams).
