I didn't vote for them. Had I done so would it have made me an FGM supporter?Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone -
Not necessarily but in your words:Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostI didn't vote for them. Had I done so would it have made me an FGM supporter?
A vote for them is also not doing anything about itEveryone is condemning FGM but no one is doing anything about it.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

And precisely what is being done by voting for the EU to criminalise it? How many convictions have been brought?Originally posted by darmstadt View PostNot necessarily but in your words:

the point here is that each country has its own laws anyway and the one country that does not make FGM illegal has brought more convictions than any other country

Like everything else the EU does it is ineffectual where it matters. Then again people like you think things like FGM are all about making the right gestures like this one:

Really? So all this free movement of people stuff they promote doesn't matter now then?Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostLike everything else the EU does it is ineffectual where it matters. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. I don't post about it at all. I wouldn't say I don't care but it's not something I'm passionate about. That is rather missing the point though, which is that what you originally said was codswallop.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostEveryone is condemning FGM but no one is doing anything about it. I bet you and all the lefty mumsnet handwringers wear lots of badges and post their horror on facebook but none of you really care. Years of encouraging immigrants to live in their own "ghettos" and being too politically correct to dare criticise ethnic groups has encouraged many of these unpleasant customs to flourish. Most of these barbaric traits are driven by a desire to subjugate women.
The EU seem to think that by making a legal declaration they are solving the problem. They are not. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

I'm not wealthy at all. In fact there are a lot of days where I have no work. Last month I only took in £2000 and the month before less than that. I'm amongst those that are on the knife edge.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostI am afraid your attitude is precisely the one that UKIP voters have a problem with. You have a patronising view of multiculturalism and therefore have no problem with it. It does not impinge on your world so what is the problem? You are rich and you do not have to live near these "ghettos".
The difficulty is that the more we let people like you (the wealthy establishment) patronise multi culturalism the more we have to adapt our rules to accommodate the demands of these diverse cultures. As soon as we do this and stop expecting people to behave according to the rules for everyone then problems arise. Female circumcision is one, failure to learn English is another that in many cases is imposed on women to subjugate them.
I live beside a council estate which cause me a lot of problems. Break-ins, fires, noise etc.
People are working hard on those issues...but hey, stand back and just let it happen, so you can moan about it.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

FTFY - I think you are trying to assign malice to a particular race, people don't go to the expense and emotional stress of moving just because there is a brown face in the road. Most will happily put up with a little diversity and slow moving change especially if the area stays nice. we have a minority of non whites who are fairly wealthy in our road and its fine.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View Post: lots of immigrants move in and the Whites move out, because there are predominantly immigrants on their street. .
: immigrants feel better protected and helped by people of their own kind. So hence move to areas with immigrants.

andWhile white avoidance of ethnic minorities is the first thought that comes to mind, it's important to consider the alternative explanations. Most diverse wards are urban and poor. Whites may be leaving for better schools, cheaper homes, fresher air, or because they are more likely to be retirees, wealthier or better educated. Only a statistical approach which controls for these factors can tell us whether ethnic preferences are key.
..........................
American and British research shows that minorities are moving out of their areas of concentration to better neighbourhoods. However, white Americans tend to leave or avoid ‘majority minority’ neighbourhoods and seek out areas that are over 70 per cent white. Given the large increase in Hispanic and Asian populations in America, this is resulting in ever larger heavily-minority zones in America's most diverse metropolitan areas.

One of my best mates from uni grew up in Blackburn. He happens to be brown, and he has some proper horror stories to tell and scars to go with them.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostNot been to blackburn then? one brown face and street empties..fast!While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you.
