    Build a good LinkedIn profile. Link with your old colleagues, bosses, suppliers, clients. Let them all know what you are looking for, what you can offer and what your timescales are. See if there is flexibility in your end date with your current job and save your leave days to facilitate a quick bunk.

      Worth checking with HR that as part of your redundancy you get time off for attending interviews and retraining, many do these days.

I know that there are various ways in which to set up as a contractor, but I'm wondering if anyone can give me any pointers on the best way to go about it.

              stay in your job till sept 2016 when outsourced BI staff can atually take it over, or go this september come back October as a contractor and fix the issues
