Build a good LinkedIn profile. Link with your old colleagues, bosses, suppliers, clients. Let them all know what you are looking for, what you can offer and what your timescales are. See if there is flexibility in your end date with your current job and save your leave days to facilitate a quick bunk.

Don't forget to stay on good terms with your employer and in touch, so that when the offshore people stuff it up you are ready to swoop in as a consultant.

That is sooooooo likely to happen.

Amazing how many places are now willing to pay the big bucks cos they want things don't correctly in the first place. The guys that are outsourcing will no doubt have it come back and bite them in the ass.

Serco are hardly unheard of. They manage loads of security stuff as well as several other areas and you see Serco logos on vans quite often as well as (I think) some speed cameras.

Bearing in mind Serco is all over the news this week as they are to be investigated for fraud and there are calls to ban them from applying for Govt contracts I wouldn't say they are unknown at this moment in time
