Because Parliament is supreme and if it wishes to act to disable democratic instruments, then it cannot be challenged constitutionally. Any challenge would be unconstitutional: e.g. military coup, popular revolution, general strike, appointment by the Privy Council of an interim administration. Any of these might be justified, but they would not be constitutionally justified.

Now, stop being so wrong.

Parliament represents the will of the people. If the people don't believe in it, it goes away. If it has no legitimacy it cannot operate.

This country cannot be hijacked by a small group of individuals.

It is not at all hard to repatriate powers. A single Act of Parliament is all that it would take.
