6,000 miles with 5 service stamps at a Toyota Dealer - I kid you not. Tyres looked brand new (still have not changed them), couldn't find a scratch or scrape anywhere, engine looked like it had not been used at all. in 4 years I have changed brake pads and nothing else.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostZero miles on the clock?Comment

That's a Toyota. It has superior Japanese Zen engineering.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View Post6,000 miles with 5 service stamps at a Toyota Dealer - I kid you not. Again it's down to how it's been used. 6k miles because some old dear only used it every fortnight or because it did 2 miles twice a day. Same mileage but very different result on the car. And yes at 6k miles it doesn't matter. It's when that car is up at 60k plus miles that the wear and tear starts taking it's toll.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View Post6,000 miles with 5 service stamps at a Toyota Dealer - I kid you not. I made the mistake of a getting a low mileage ex mobility Ford Focus. Great at first but was cream crackered by 60k miles because of it's short journey history.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

Really? There are quite a few old BMWs I see on the roads these days... Old 3 series from 15 years ago are not all that uncommon.Originally posted by sasguru View PostThat's a Toyota. It has superior Japanese Zen engineering.

Seeing them on the road isn't an indication of how much of a headache they are for their owners either.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostReally? There are quite a few old BMWs I see on the roads these days... Old 3 series from 15 years ago are not all that uncommon.
Ohh lookie... Forum asking about an old BMW or a Honda Civic

Buying a ten year old BMW 3 series, or Honda Civic?
All said if you desire a BMW so much then you probably won't mind paying the extra costs if need be. If you just want a run about the same costs will stick in your throat. TVR owners are the best example of that. They love their cars that have possibly the worst service record of anything on the road. Only they would buy a car that needs the front wheel taking off to change the battery.Last edited by northernladuk; 27 March 2014, 15:03.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

So to summarise 15 pages of this thread: NWP2C is going to buy an old BMW (for the status

) and waste lots of money on it.
