I've had loads of gigs through female agents (well, one in particular) and my first gig was as well. Can't say as I've ever had a problem with them.

Likewise, I achieved my highest ever day rate when hired by a line manageress. Technically possibly the weakest person I've ever worked for (scratch that, had an absolute total bimbette back in the permie days) but heart of gold, and not bad eye candy to boot, think Susannah Reid minus a stone.
