But the proposal has sparked fury among farmers - who say British jobseekers have a ‘work ethic problem’ which means people simply refuse to do hard manual labour.

The farmers insisted yesterday that reliable foreign workers are vital for the industry and that foreign migrant labour has fulfilled their needs for generations.

so long as the people taking the jobs don't lose the ability to go back onto benefits in a reasonable time afterwards if needed then great.

The reasons I have heard why people don't take these jobs is they lose benefits and have to wait months to go back on so end up losing money.

I am quite sure there are plenty of UKIP voters willing to wake up at 3am and fill those vacancies for £6 an hour, once "we have kicked the bloody foreigners out"!

Now local cleaning conmpanies here in Brabant insist that their workers be pure Dutch:

The irony is that the Brabanders don't really consider themselves "genuine Hollanders", so they have managed to piss off 99% of the population.

Well what I don't understand is that while there is supposedly an obligation for the unemployed to accept any available work after some number of months of unemployment, I don't get the impression that it's enforced.

Importing barely literate foreigners under the cover of tier 2 visa and putting these unskilled guys in highly skilled jobs is a real problem for British workforce and is hazardous for the future of British companies. Back in 90s we were indoctrinated with the idea of hiring on merit, but the reality in Britain proved to be very different. Immigrants here are selected by the colour of their skin: brown - manager & IT consultant for £500 per day, white - clean the streets for minimum wage.

In this obsessive witch hunting environment created by UKiP, people do not think straight.
