I hit a very large pothole last weekend and, coincidentally, I started getting a knocking sound coming from the rear of the car when taking sharp corners.
Anti-roll bar bracket is fubared. £350 to fix.
A drop in the ocean, I hear you say, but following the advice on Potholes.co.uk - Home Page I'm jumping on the compo bandwagon. I'm not holding my breath but the state of some stretches of roads that I cover whilst going about my business is on a par with that of 3rd world roads.
Now, I'm sure I am going to get a very conciliatory letter in response from Wiltshire County Council explaining that they are doing everything in their powers to meet the challenges posed to our Road network from the unprecedented weather events resulting from man made climate change and I stand very little chance of getting any lolly. But I'm actually quite cross because my road tax jumped by an order of magnitude above Inflation a couple of years ago to £225 (not to mention fuel duties) and the state of our roads has got so much worse.
Not wishing to put on the old rose tinted specs but our roads never used to be in this sort of state.
Anyhow, nothing like a Monday to bring out the inner Daily Mail reader
