Ah, ok. Luton has many Ditchlings.

      We will see.

Will head out to Leith Hill in the next couple of weeks which is probably one of the steeper ones around here. There's also the BFH at Ipsden, but don't think that's really in the same league.

I did one about the same gradient as Ditchling, but about 14 times shorter!

No need. I live on at 12:1 which turns into an 11:1. On approach to Round Green is a 16:1 which goes on for 1.5 miles. Lawd knows what the Barton cutting is.

I know hands down we beat you in Flatborough for hills. : D

Streatley Hill makes the 'top 10'. Done it a couple of times, but prefer to plan my route to go down It is busy road which isn't great when you're crawling along.

Chain snapped this am crossing batter sea bridge junction, that's never going to have a happy ending .... Putney cycles fixed me up though - probably just to be rid of the stroppy mare who wants to get home

Saturday morning, get MB out of mothballs.
                  Pump up tyres.
                  Visit Bloomfield cycles.
                  New chain, just because.
New battery for cycle computer. Because it's flat.
Remeasure circumferences and recalibrate cycle computer.
                  Check over backpack.
                  Check over under seat toolkit.
                  Fill up water bottles.

Only then I was ready to go out. I cycle alone so need to be better prepared than GI Joe.

The thought of a chain snap 20 miles from home in some rural bumble**** does not appeal.

I might go out on my bike later.

Got home last weekend, jet lag was a bust. Then A very long working week finished at 9pm on all nights except Friday where headed to West Country to do stuff on new house and now in Devon for a funeral for two days before hurtling back up to Heathrow on Wednesday to fly back to US for another 10 days!!! Haven't cycled for two months now as been nowhere near my bike.

Maybe get a cheeky ride out to redwoods in San Fran next week on a crappy hire bike.
