Sorry? I don't even know who you are.

Seriously, this forum is a viper's pit of unpleasantness.

        How is it idiotic?

In the context of the debate you said:

If you're too fat to fit - not fit easily but physically fit - in a regular seat then that's not because of "a little bit of naughtiness
Thus implying that this person was overweight through abusing his/her body from overheating.

I merely pointed out that it could have been for some other medical reason.

And why do you lot get so unpleasant when somebody disagrees?

Using terms like idiot moron, fooking <insert indecipherable Glaswegian insult here> are way below the belt.

No, there are pleasant ones here too; there are even some people who disagree on lots of things but can be pleasant to one another most of the time. Just not most people most of the time.

But unless you know this to be the case, then it's a safe guess they were just fat and you're just pulling for an angle to argue against. And even if it is a medical condition, getting to the point you're too big to physically fit in a seat suggests it's still at least partly your fault because there's fat and then there's gargantuan.

And then there's another category that I'll call 'gravitational anomaly'. People who are so fat they are able to block an entire aisle in the supermarket with their own enormous arse which must in part be due to their huge mass bending space time around them seeing as the aisles are at least 2 metres wide. We've all seen them and that level of fatness requires a considerable food intake, even with a congenital condition.

Some quick research on Google suggests very few medical conditions that cause weight gain. The best known (although still very rare) is hyperthyroidism, and that's treatable.

Cushing's is another one although bizarrely it's more often brought on by obesity.

So, basically, fat is fat due to overeating in say all but one in 50,000 cases.

This is my experience too. A lot of people seem to have quite a lot of self delusion over how much they eat and how much they exercise so they seem to convince themselves it must be medical.

There you go again implying that fat=bad.

Sure, nobody wants to be overweight but in years gone by people were just that. Overweight. And they didn't have all this guilt heaped on them by the health fascists.
