I hope he's not a good friend if you're going to inflict SY on him, he'll never forgive you.

Not really that keen on any of the crap that B&Q has to offer, nor Wickes.

Quick google shows lots of new online firms I've never heard of. Anyone got and recommendations?

I need close coupled loo, barf, basin n taps, heated towel rail, under floor heating, floor and wall tiles, shower screen.

            TIA
Budget of a grand ... what do you live in a matchbox?

Just in the middle of doing up a bathroom and currently up to £3k for a room 3m x3m
You also need to budget for cement backer board - if you ask me nicely I'll tell you the cheapest place to get it

Bathroom electrics are no more complicated than other types, however it's illegal IIRC and you definitely have to get it certified even if not. If you are putting in an electric shower, I think you are definitely not allowed, because it connects directly to the main breaker.

Other than that, £1000 sounds pretty low if this is to include an entire suite and retiling & decorating the whole room. Not unrealistic, but certainly not luxury either. Worth splashing out more for premium stuff?

btw I made the mistake of ordering stuff from these guys I should have read the "About us" page before ordering as the standard of English is a clue - i.e.

"We have broadly recognised the necessities of our customers, thus, entrenched vast gamut to cater to all of those."

And sure enough the emails announcing delay to supply started to arrive even though the web site said in stock... all very Bobish

Someone mentioned VictoriaPlumb; we got our new bath and shower screen from them - a real big bath for a good long soak. The main problem is buying that stuff unseen, but we're happy with it and the price (bath was something like £250) as well as the fact they deliver rapidly - even next-day, while many suites in shops have a wait of several weeks.

We had a problem with our bath - a bit spongy at one end, due to a lack of resin we think - and after talking on the phone they sent a new one without any request to inspect it or have the old one back.
