It is indeed getting over the top. It would be proper news if his body moved itself.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Medium asks Nelson what he thinks of his funeral so far.

I mis-read it as "in a state" rather than "in state"...

I have stopped paying my TV licence. In consequence (to remain within the law) I no longer watch live TV at all which means I've been spared the TV news coverage.

However I have had to resort to listening to old podcasts to avoid the radio news over the last few days.

Mandela had many virtues, was not a saint, but was massively influential. The queue of celebs, broadcasters, dictators, war criminals, etc waiting to share their own startling insights is fairly sickening.

              Oh.

They managed to slip 3 minutes of disasterous news about the test in Oz into the Today prog at 6:27.

              No room for anything else.
Over 12 months ago the BBC had already spent £250,000 (fact!) putting together the Mandela is dead broadcasting. Fees have since risen I'm sure. They now need to justify it. Well prob not, as they spend our money like it's not theirs.

I remember meeting him a while ago and asked him what it was like starring opposite Jessica Tandy.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I noticed yesterday that the death of Peter O'Toole succeeded in pushing Mandela off the top spot (at least on the BBC News website).
Did he do it on purpose as a protest at the blanket coverage?
