I have found that if you cook decent burgers for dinner and have any left over, these CAN be re-heated next day and stuck in a bun for quite reasonable results.

Also there would be an armed revolt if i didn't do home made Yorkshires - which are really easy to do anyway.
I agree that mashed potatoes are a bit faffy, but are easier to do since i dispensed with boiling them and just steam them days. Steaming veg is much better.
I still write a plan of timings when i do a big lunch - like Christmas or Easter.
Just like i was taught at school
      It's the peeling I can't stand - I am the world's slowest peeler.

This is why people have children. Or at least it's why my parents did. I could do a whole roast dinner by the time I was 14.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Does that include cutting a cross into the bottom of each sprout?

My son is cannier - he massacres vegetables so badly that I've stopped asking him to do it.

I believe the consensus now is the cross is not necessary

Why do school dinner ladies always boil the arse off peas?

I don't do sprouts. Revolting things.

It is otherwise the stem/core is solid even when the sprout is mush.
