It's called division of labour and is to be expected in an efficient capitalist economy. It's a virtuous circle. Ready meals produced by those on minimum wage enable more capable members of society to work an extra hour a day, thus making themselves miserable which leads to an increase in consumption due to retail therapy.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Two (three) wrongs don't make a right.

Frozen yorkies aren't wrong - making yorkies requires making batter, having suitable cooking trays and oven space. Frozen yorkies are pretty tasty.

WMSS - When I cook a roast, the 2 things that are bought ready made are Yorkshires and stuffing. M&S do the best stuffing but only at Christmas so fill one shelf of the freezer with it every year.

Aunt Bessie's used to sell frozen batter in little individual foil cases, so you just need the oven space. Haven't seen them for years, though.

I don't know if it's frozen, but it looks cold at least.

Most supermarkets also sell large chilled yorkies that take like 3 minutes in the oven. Tried them and they're really good.

I always make mash from scratch though.

But a yorkshire pudding is far less preparation and cooking time than mashed potato. I quite like the shop-bought ones too, but I fail to see why mashed potato is awarded special WTF status. We normally cook a huge vat of the stuff and freeze it precisely because it's a faff.

I'd rather families bought frozen mash than oven chips (as long as the frozen stuff isn't packed with sugar and salt).
