I train it a few days, drive a few days and stay over 1 night every couple of weeks when i go out for afew beers withthe rest of the folks. Train is ok. Get a good pair of sennheiser ear buds for £40 and you'll be able to sleep all the way. Just remember to set an alarm. I twice missed my stop after having a couple of beers... hence why I now stay overSigned sealed and delivered.Comment

The longest commute I could stand is 1hr maximum, door-to-door. Even then I'd much rather it be significantly less than that. My current commute is about 35 minutes, which is just enough time to wake-up/wind-down. I suppose it's one of the benefits of being permie. As someone once said to me: A long commute takes years off a man's life.Comment

Reasonable number of local jobs in NE at the moment, all NHS paying up to £200, or there's one in Kent offering £500-550Comment

Just about to start one with 2hr drive or 3hr train. Going to start and look at wfh once in. It's a good opportunity otherwise I wouldn't do it. I'm also going to look at b&bs nearby and see how the prices compare. 4hrs a day driving won't equal a happy family! 12months max methinks if that is the case. Anyone (sensible) do a 2hr+ commute?!Comment

Have you ever been a contractor yourself? If not what what right to you have to comment on contractors "desperation for money"?Last edited by No2politics; 17 November 2013, 00:44."You can't climb the ladder of success, with your hands in the pockets"
