So yes it appears at least a million immigrants are driving around the UK, but probably far more than that.

If we converted the railway lines all into motorways and got rid of all the bus lanes (ok just ban all buses and caravans that would be simpler) and make all lorries only drive at night

most of the countries that I have visited have less lanes than we do, they also have a lot less congestion. This is because their roads are longer. this country is so little

LOL. Yeah try Toronto at rush hour sometime. I have been known to get out of car and have a sandwich while I wait for traffic to move.

It's not going to improve unless we decide we will commute differently and to different places.

The roads haven't changed capacity significantly in the last 20 - 30 years yet there are a lot more drivers.
