Why all the abuse & neglect of children in England at the minute? I switched on the news last night and the first two headlines are about the death of a child as a result of neglect, and the next abuse.

And now this. Breaks my heart.

I don't think it's any more prevalent, it's just getting easier to report, and the police are taking any accusations serious, as they should, which is resulting into a higher conviction rate.

I agree there is something that does not right about the story, the girl obviously knew what she was doing, but that does not above the men of all responsibility. It's another sad tale of what seems like a very disturbed young girl

I don't see how this is 100% the fault of the men involved. This isn't (at least as we're guessing) a naive girl but one who is actively going out to find men to have sex with. Shouldn't she be considered the same way a minor who commits murder/torture would be...

I think it's partly because "pedos" are the flavour of the month in terms of what the nation is terrified of - a bit like commies in the USA in recent history. That is reflected in the media. Kids being neglected and abused in orphanages, foster homes and schools (boarding schools especially) has been going on for ages and was probably worse in the past (at a guess).

Better than sweeping it under the carpet, and allowing churches and foster homes etc to be holiday homes for paedos

It's always been going on, but as it's easier to spot now there's less excuse for ignoring it

What shocks me most is how a girl can be in such a state of mind to go round having sex with men at the age of 13. Most people are terrified of the idea at that age.

It might have always happened but Pr0n has definitely had a big impact on society and the way it views women (and young girls). This in turn makes it possible for somebody who would never consider going down that route to end up as a pedo.....
