You are one misguided individual, all of the above is nothing to do with islam, get educated idiot -
Now you're being silly. It is something to do with Islam, but not everything to do with Islam.Originally posted by GSL View PostYou are one misguided individual, all of the above is nothing to do with islam, get educated idiotComment

True, abortion, contraception & no role in church hierarchy (or whatever priests are called) may not seem as bad as perceived Islamic issues, but it does, IMHO, prevent Christians from being able to comment on Islamic woman’s rights without being hypocrites.Originally posted by minestrone View PostI don't think there is much of a problem with Christians women's rights in the UK..
Of course the statement above is over simplified & has no reflection on the many different aspects of Christianity or Islam.
& no following either I am not an expert to comment in depth on them.Growing old is mandatory
Growing up is optionalComment

That's an oversimplification to think it's just a religion, it's as much an ideology and a way of lifeOriginally posted by Mich the Tester View PostWell in that case there seems to be a reason to to take action against those particular schools, but that's something different to denouncing a whole religion.Doing the needful since 1827Comment

As long as someone's keep an eye on over-simplification, then we should be OK.Originally posted by amcdonald View PostThat's an oversimplification to think it's just a religion, it's as much an ideology and a way of lifeComment

That's an oversimplification; Islam includes many ideologies and ways of life, with some common factors like the belief in the teachings of Mohammed, but also with many interpretations of his teachings. Althought actually, there was one muslim 'fundamentalist' who gained a following in Nigeria in the 1970s who disputed whether Mohammed was a prophet.Originally posted by amcdonald View PostThat's an oversimplification to think it's just a religion, it's as much an ideology and a way of lifeAnd what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? It is the low hanging fruit for investigative journalists to go to mosques or Islamic centres with hidden cameras and strike up a conversation about jihad, even channel 4 got bored of it.Comment

Let's get back on track.
Why is it so much of the youth are anti muslim when they of any generation have had the most integrated contact with them throughout their education? But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition. Pliny the youngerComment

Well, it says about 25%; that's not suprising to me as I've noticed that all over Europe the parties that oppose 'foreigners' or 'foreign religions' gain somewhere between 10 and 20% of the votes, sometimes reaching 25% but rarely more.Originally posted by Gibbon View PostLet's get back on track.

Remember, young peoples views tend to change as they get more life experience. I'd be interested to see this broken down to levels of education.
We should alo remember this; "BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat survey was carried out by the pollsters Comres in June after the soldier Lee Rigby was murdered in the street in Woolwich, south east London, in May. "
Just the kind of moment when people might say something they wouldn't otherwise say, and they might think differently after a while. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

Probably because Islam doesn't tolerate alcohol, frowns on sex outside of marriage has a thing about "Dressing modestly" and would like you to pray to an imaginary friend 5 times a day?Originally posted by Gibbon View PostLet's get back on track.

Quite frankly that's going to get up the nose of the vast majority 15 - 29 year olds.
A religion that means you can't get p*ssed on Friday night and try and get laid is always going to be viewed as suspicious by the good-old British teenager.Comment
