    And having some spares left...

Really good win - again shows his stupidity in not selecting Giggs over the past few months - Sure you have to bring the new team through but you also have to win in the short-term!

Doesn't really change the outcome - beat the worst team in the competition only just! And it's not like United can go on and win the thing without a miracle (Though Giggs/Welbeck have shown they are our greatest chance).

Thankfully that result should see him in charge for next Wednesday's game.

It was all about the pace and energy lastnight, trying to accommodate Rooney, Mata, RVP etc. has meant that not being there. Some top performances out there lastnight but in all honesty we were lucky to keep a clean sheet.

It's a petty strong last 8, only way I see united getting near the final is drawing Dortmund and then perhaps Chelsea in the next two rounds. Dortmund have been as bad as united this year, they've lost 7 games in what's a pretty poor league compared with the PL.

Ps. I have no idea how Valencia played as well/long as he did with one eye!

While I'm happy with the win, they seemed to sit back too much for me after getting the 3rd and had a really dodgy feel to the last 20 mins. We won't get any further though.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

            I preferred version 1!

That's the ridiculousness of it all - Moyes wants to play a crossing game without the pace of Welbeck, Valencia and is somehow surprised we are losing! If you want to win the fergie way then you must use the pace of the players. Still don't understand why Nani isn't playing at all though.....

I think he had a hamstring injury recently as I remember him not being in the Portugal squad for this reason at the start of the month - odd that he hasn't really had a look in this season though especially as he signed a 5 year deal earlier this season!

I can't say I'm looking forward to next Tuesday, but I'd keep the exact same front 6 for that game. The fact Aguero is ruled out gives me some hope, though!

Giggs must play again - he is the only midfielder who can drive the team forwards. Fellaini and Carrick look backwards more than they look forwards and the front 4 just don't link with them well enough.

Did you hear the crowd early on when somebody passed back instead of passing forward. There was a massive collective groan. The lack of pace has been a killer all season. In the game against Liverpool we were moving far too slowly allowing them to get back all the time. Compare that with their breaks where we were then strugling to get players back into position.

The thing with Giggs is he doesn't actually play like a 40 year old - he doesn't have as much pace as when he was 20-30 but he still has excellent balance and control which allows him to dictate games. Him and Carrick played better than any other midfield combination. Cleverely shouldn't even be on the bench.
