well said - so we need to establish the truth before we can even start discussing action. To the US it seems to be the other way round - let's discuss the action we are going to take then wait for evidence. -
But the other states in the area don't want US/UK intervention. They do want weapons into Syria but thats a different story altogether.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View Postyour just giving into the media biased IMO - there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest the government had anything to do with it. In a court of law motive is important - think about the motives that Saudi/Qatar have in causing such an event to happen....... I sniff involvement of Israel/Saudi/Qatar in this attack.....Comment

Saudi/Qatar want rid of Assad at all costs. They are already pouring billions into supporting terrorism in Syria/Iraq. Where do you think the money comes from to support the constant bloodshed?Originally posted by bobspud View PostBut the other states in the area don't want US/UK intervention. Plus even if the Assad regime was toppled there would be no viable solution of who to run the country, as the "rebels" are not one group of people, they are made up of a number of factions, only united in toppling Assad. When (and it will happen) Assad is removed from power, there is going to be a lot of instability in the area. Some of the factions who are part of the opposition to Assad are pretty extreme Islamists who would not promote stability in the middle east. There is also a strong alliance between Iran and Syria, which also has to be seriously considered in the equation of what to do (although Iran are making all the right noises since Rouhani came into power.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostProggy, do you get some auto-erotic thrill from being told you're a cretin?
It's not certain whether it's Assad and his chums or one of the other loony groups that have jumped on the Syrian opposition's bandwagon, and it makes a bloody big difference in terms of international law, the UN, US-UK-Russian relations, British and American law, relations in the middle east and so on and so forth.Comment

Given the posturing and rhetoric from the western governments, they obviously have some evidence to go on that hasn't been released to the public. Recalling parliament isn't done on a rumour, jez are you really that thick?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostProggy, do you get some auto-erotic thrill from being told you're a cretin?

I know full well where the money is going to and from. I have an associate that is commercially involved. He offered me a chance to come out and earn some cash I decided that I'd rather not because when it comes down to it I am comfortable enough not to want to dodge firefights just to pay my mortgage off early...Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostSaudi/Qatar want rid of Assad at all costs. Of course they have the evidence, they've had it for a while now but they'll say they didn't and so require greater powers in electronic surveillance!Originally posted by proggy View PostGiven the posturing and rhetoric from the western governments, they obviously have some evidence to go on that hasn't been released to the public. So said a conspiracy theorist to me...“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
