BBC News - President Obama 'sure Syria behind chemical attack'
Obama saying he has concluded it was the Syrian government now, he has kinda painted himself into a corner with the red line speech last year. Tomorrow will be interesting at parliament.Comment

It should be noted that the same lying hypocritical tulipheads also introduced the idea of parliamentary approval for war, which had actually never been requested before, and parliament gave it's overwhelming consent, with the notable exception of Robin Cook & every lib dem MP in the house. It's arguably the most "legitimate" war the UK has ever been involved in.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostWell I'm torn now. I also think we should wait for the UN's inspectors to finish their work, but that means agreeing with a bunch of lying hypocritical thieving parasitic tulipeheads who killed thousands of people and bloody nearly bankrupted Britain by going to war without waiting for the UN to finish their work. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

+1. Sort of.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View Postmaximum happiness for the maximum number of people.

Don't you just love the Americans, they basically ignored the UN inspectors in Iraq and now they're going to do it again:
These attacks are still alleged to have been carried out by Assad yet until there is conclusive proof, they really should not do anything like the above. For all they know it could be a 3rd party and once the bombing and killing of more innocent lives how will they react? I'm quite happy that at least the UK government has decided to wait for the report and not toe the USA 'bomb them now and damn the consequences' line.Furthermore, Washington made it clear it saw no need to wait for a report by UN inspectors currently in Damascus investigating the gas attack, estimated to have killed more than 1,000 people.
"We are going to make our own decisions on our own timelines about our response," the state department spokeswoman Marie Harf said. She added that because of initial Syrian government obstruction of the UN investigation, it had "passed the point where it can be credible".
The state department also gave more details of its intended justification for military action. A spokeswoman said Assad's alleged use of chemical weapons violated "the general law of war" while the use and proliferation of such weapons represented a threat to America's core national interests.
One thing that can be pretty much taken for sure is that the political leaders will justify this as yet another step forward on the war on terror!“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

Yep, if you lie you can get people to approve of things they wouldn't approve if they were given the truth.Originally posted by doodab View PostIt should be noted that the same lying hypocritical tulipheads also introduced the idea of parliamentary approval for war, which had actually never been requested before, and parliament gave it's overwhelming consent, with the notable exception of Robin Cook & every lib dem MP in the house. Milliband wants proof that chemical weapons were used?
Does he need to stand in a cloud of the stuff so he can smell... oh wait.Comment
