I've cycled without a helmet for almost 40 Years. They only time i did have to wear one was during BMX racing as it was the law... I'm a firm believer that helmets make cyclist act like helmets. (Like cycling up the inside at left junctions!!)

FTFY.
Are you a firm believer that if you wore a helmet you'd instantly turn into more of a helmet? What's your own reason for not wearing one?
In my experience as a car driver in a commuter city, the worst cyclists are those who don't have a helmet. Far more likely to do something idiotic, because they appear to have zero awareness of anything going on around them.
One exception - helmet + lycra is a lethal combination.

Tell that to the guy that is holding a bedside vigil with his son who probably had the same attitude....

How do you get in front of a motor vehicle in moving traffic if it has its left indicator on and you are also turning left? Are you advocating that you would have carried on down the cycle lane on the left hand side just because there is a green or blue piece of tarmac? Would you force your way down that same space if you had a car that fitted?
Sorry was busy at the bank.
The traffic wasn't moving it was stationary.
Even if the traffic was moving slower than the cyclist was going, you never go down the the inside of a vehicle in the left most lane at a junction.
Cycle lanes are actually a guide - there is absolutely no law forcing you to use them and in some cases using a cycle lane will get you killed.
Cycle lanes, road junction layout and traffic calming measures in this country are done by someone in a planning office not by someone who walks, cycles and drives a variety of vehicles. They tend to be modified when there are big accidents or when parents of a local school complain.
I suggest you get on a bike and see why sometimes it's a good idea for a cyclist not to use cycle lanes/paths and why they have to go in front of you.

That's a bit like saying that because my grandad smoked 20 a day until he died at 90, claims about smoking causing cancer are made up.
Anyone who thinks wearing a helmet is only required in case they cause an accident, is beyond talking to.
Didn't you read, he's been cycling for 40 years and clearly has ninja-like reflexes to jump out of the way of deranged taxi drivers and idiotic women doing their makeup while driving.

He fits perfectly under the wheels of a HGV.
