I think this is the point. A good friend of mine is going through a divorce, and I had no idea how awful it all is. She has always been the main breadwinner.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostI actually know divorced women due to being richer than the guy they married have had to hand over assets to the guy on divorce. So it does work both ways. However as women tend to have less money and assets than the guy they marry on divorce it's often the guy who loses out.Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

know someone whose ex was a violent drunk, she ended up having to pay maintenance to him.
no kids involved.
Personally without kids it should be a clean split with only the cash you came in with plus a split of what was made since that you had a positive influence on. Blonde bimbos (of both sexes) should walk out with almost nothing if they contributed nothing.Comment

Sorry, forgot to update you all.
Apparently the thing on Friday was not him getting nailed in court (which he had previously assumed). They had dragged some very senior judge off his lunch to hear the case (which apparently is like asking a top surgeon to put a plaster on someone's knee) and he told them all to bugger off and come back on Monday and told my cousin to get a lawyer. My cousin took it as a reprimand but it was just good advice as the judge correctly assessed what sort of girl he was walking into court against.
He was not able to get hold of a lawyer or McKenzie friend that he could afford so he went in by himself after taking advice from a friend who used to work in family law. He turned up smart, polite and maintained a polite but professional attitude the entire time etc. He told the judge that whilst he utterly denied the charges of abuse and could proof she was lying about various things he was voluntarily moving out of the house for the good of his children whom he had not seen for three weeks. As they were currently living in a cramped shared house and he was concerned over their welfare.
Apparently her trump card was a doctor's note claiming that she has some kind of illness which means she needs to be in the house, he explained that whilst he can show she is exaggerating the symptoms it is irrelevant as he was not and never has contested she actually has that illness nor was he contesting the house and had never done so, she had simply refused his previous contact attempts and had therefore never asked.
The judge commended him on his decision to move out for the good of the children and expressed dissatisfaction with the way he wife had acted and how she had taken the children etc.
He is moving in with his parents until things are sorted but can have access to his children via a contact centre so he is pretty much over the moon!
Thanks to all for your help and advice. When I rule the world, your deaths will be quick and painless.Comment

I wouldnt wish a contact centre on my worst enemy. Its like visiting someone in jail. I hope he gets is sorted out and get full access rights to the children. The law in this country is a sin.Originally posted by Platypus View Post

So he is now under the family law spell if he is pleased at that. He should have refused to move out until proper contact was agreed. And if she is unwell the kids should have been returned to the family home for him to look after.Originally posted by MyUserName View PostHe is moving in with his parents until things are sorted but can have access to his children via a contact centre so he is pretty much over the moon!
At least on the plus side, he is smiling while taking a good kicking. Plenty more kickings to come.Comment

Gosh you do talk a load of nonsense. I was pointing out that women want to rule in the office and the home. They want men to give up pron and only have sex for procreation. If all men were as dopey and stupid as you then they would succeed.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostStill, at least you're not bitter, Brillo.Comment
