    Interesting. Something new to learn everyday. I never thought that there would be an "exact" amount of gap specified in the highway code for overtaking cyclists. I find them a bit irritating on narrow countryside B roads, where you can't see ahead due to twisty bends, and have to drive slowly behind them until you have decent visibility. That being said, a few have wobbled in the wake of my exhaust roar...
    I am Brad. I do more than the needful and drive the market rates up by not bobbing my head.

      the Car/Cyclist/Pedestrian argument will go on forever, key thing we should is we watch out for each other.

      I have tales of observed stupidity from all sides, I just wish more people would drive,ride & walk better or I had an AK47 (AtW made me add that).

        Yesterday there was a ‘dad’ in Lycra followed by two kids aged about eight the ‘mum’ cycling the wrong way down a main road, they then went the wrong way around a roundabout making oncoming traffic stop. They did this to as a short cut saving 50 yards.

          This^ I always make sure any cyclists that I pass is still on his wheels in my rear view mirror after I have passed them. Although at this time of year my back yard fills up with two of my least favourite road users and patience becomes a virtue under strain.

          If you are a member of a cycling club that likes to ride round in a ******* peloton spread all over the B Roads of somerset endangering everyone with your lack of road skills JUST BE WARNED if its the choice between mowing you down or hitting an oncoming vehicle then you and your lycra shorts are going in a bush...

          The rest of the fat middle-aged ****ers with your midlife crisis harleys that are too loud and far too slow can also ****off...

            So not just me then. I had six hit the hedge last year when they cut a blind downhill corner and found a Volvo estate coming the other way. Volvo brakes are way better than bike ones, luckily, or it would have been quite nasty.

            So why did they shout at me, I wonder...

              That is to say:

              Motor vehicle->cycle->pedestrian->ox
              By rights it should be:

              Motor vehicle->pedestrian->ox->hedgehog->cycle

              Can't abide the feckers. Well female cyclists are usually OK, and more careful, but there's nothing worse than being stopped at traffic lights with some guy's hairy legs just the other side of the window.

                  I think it's time for you to do a Google image search on Liz Hatch

                      Today's cyclist cock of the day award goes to the bloke who pulled out of a rural side road from the entire other side of the road at a give way straight into my path when I was travelling at a legal 50mph. I 100% guarantee he wouldn't have done that in a car
