AFAIK with the exception of Eastbourne, Wimbledon is the only grass surface on the professional circuit.
Players are simply more used to hard courts as that is what they play on for the rest of the year.

I just think it's a shame they stop the ladies tennis when it rains. I think I'd watch it more often if they played on through torrential downpours and big mudpuddles on the court.
