I don't see what she's gaining from not making a formal police complaint - given that the whole story is already out in the open. -
Too late, he's been cautioned. They can't take any more action. More's the pity.Originally posted by formant View PostI don't see what she's gaining from not making a formal police complaint - given that the whole story is already out in the open.Comment

She'll have her reasons and she's got enough to do. Have you ever reported a crime? I have and I can understand why people don't. If you're already feeeling tulipe about something and you're busy with your life, the idea of wasting half a day in a police station telling some semi-literate dipstick every detail of what happened 5 five times over while he struggles to spell 'assault' isn't exactly appealing and the idea of court cases and standing in the witness box after that is even less appealing. At least, that's how it goes at the police in NL and I don't imagine it's very different in the UK. The woman has a life to live and I hope she can get on with it without being preached at by people with 'a cause'.Originally posted by formant View PostI don't see what she's gaining from not making a formal police complaint - given that the whole story is already out in the open. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Maybe because all he did was hold her neck? Hardly crime of the century, happens week in week out in most sports, the police have cautioned him only because of the media spotlight on it. Not saying its right, but people are going on as if he beat the tulip out of her.Originally posted by formant View PostI don't see what she's gaining from not making a formal police complaint - given that the whole story is already out in the open.Comment

It's an assault Proggy, 5 or 6 times as well. Dress it up however you like, but it's assault, illegal, and he's put his hands up to it.Originally posted by proggy View PostMaybe because all he did was hold her neck?
