          There is 'no evidence' that the last Labour government ran up too much debt, Ed Balls said yesterday.

          The claim, which was immediately ridiculed by the Tories, came as he announced plans to increase borrowing if his party wins the next election.

          The Shadow Chancellor used a speech on the economy to claim that the next Labour government would impose 'iron discipline' on spending.
          Just think if he hadn't met you on the tube he would have made sense.
