As a book of fiction it's rather dull, but the point is people actually believe the rubbish spouted in it.

The most compelling argument against religion is if you were born in another country or time you would believe in totally different God(s).

No. Because you don't believe that there are any miracles, therefore God doesn't do any healing, therefore there can be no verified miracles of healing.

There have been claims of amputees growing limbs back - quite a famous one here . The implication that Christians don't claim this particular kind of regenerative miracle is not based on fact.

The whole question is a red herring. Most believers don't believe on the basis of miracles, and even if a man came back to life after being dead for three days, and was seen by hundreds of people, confirmed sceptics still wouldn't believe. The idea of miracles is not a realistic proposition to them - they've already rejected the possibility.
I always find it astonishing how supposedly intelligent people come up with such absolute tosh.
So the last "verified" amputee miracle happened in the 17th century? How convenient.
Why none since then? Has God's power declined?
Or is it simply that people are not as gullible any more?
I'll ignore the "coming back to life" nonsense, since there could be many explanations for that supposed miracle, all of which don't involve supernatural intervention that has the ability to break the laws of nature.

I've read the Bible intensively as it happens and it is a great book of literature, up there with Shakespeare and the like.

Well - it's 66 books (or more). And I guess since it has already been demonstrated conclusively that you are profoundly ignorant on matters of art and literature, and probably have never actually read much beyond,

I'm sure your opinion will be given appropriate weight.

With Moses, Jesus, Noah etc etc. the thing I which attracts me to them is the fact they all claimed to be coming from the same God - they did not say my God is different to Noah's God etc.

For me, these individuals were truly humble people, like nothing we can imagine (though we have all met people who make us believe it is possible to have that level of godliness). Some people seem to be full of darkness (take example of Abu Hamza, Bin Laden etc). then some others seem like genuinely good people who draw people to them.

I genuinely believe that people like Jesus, Moses and Noah were from God and the fact they all point to the same source is evidence enough for me. All the prophets of God over the centuries and millennia pointed to the same source - nothing short of a miracle in itself to me.....

Yeah Chronicles and Leviticus are real page turners. I have read the Iliad (or Ilyiad as you call it) and it is a great work of literature with a coherent narrative unlike most of the books of the bible. I find it strange you lace every post with insults given your claim to be a Christian, maybe you need to read a bit more of the bible.

Why do you claim there have been no such miracles since? Have you studied all reported miracles that have taken place in the last hundred years? I haven't. Maybe the percentage of amputee healings is proportionate to the number of headache healings sought and gained?

It's still just a red herring as you don't accept there is a God, and therefore there cannot be any miracles due to him. Any evidence presented will not, to you, indicate the presence of any supernatural being.
