1. They cannot vote in General Elections i.e. vote for an MP.
2. EEA which includes EU citizens have absolutely no reason to get a British passport due to freedom of movement.
3. They can vote in Local and European elections but I doubt many of them vote as most British people don't vote.
4. Eire is a special case.

IIRC, Mitt was complaining about 'the 48%' always voting for Obama, and those were immigrants, unemployed and blacks. It's one of the things that took him down.
For the person saying something is a wasted vote, as 'they always vote tory round here', do you not think that's an issue? It can mean 80% of the warn aren't represented properly.Comment
