A sneer takes the form of an insulting put down usually in the form of a cliche. It is what you use instead of trying to construct an argument.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone -
So when do we vote on whether to throw Scotland out of the UK?Comment

For 30 years or so and then the oil runs out! I think it was Darling who was saying that its not wise to base your whole economy on a finite resource. Scotland will become a very big Aberdeen in the same way that Aberdeen will be fecked once the black stuff stops flowing.Originally posted by proggy View PostIt's not true that people who make money are sneered at, given Scotland's small population but large natural resources and exporting industries, it will be boom time forever in Scotland!Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

To be fair I don't think people in England are much better. Success just breeds jealousy rather the desire to emulate it (Unless it's footballers or X Factor)Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostHow is Scotland going to become an entrepreneur creating economy when currently anyone in Scotland who dares make any money is sneered at. How does being sneered at prevent one from becoming an entrepreneur? The most successful people are often the ones who have overcome the greatest amount of naysaying, many of what turn out to be great ideas seem outlandish and struggle to obtain investment initially, and frankly if someone cannot overcome a bit of enviousness from those who don't matter they probably lack the gumption to succeed at anything.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostHow is Scotland going to become an entrepreneur creating economy when currently anyone in Scotland who dares make any money is sneered at.
You're ever so fond of telling us that the poorest of the poor can succeed if only they applied themselves, and now you want to tell us that a little bit of negative comment will scupper everything for everyone? What a massive crock of tulip. Do you not think that those from poor backgrounds that have succeeded have done it despite being sneered at by their so called "betters"? The trouble with social mobility is that it runs in two directions. For every poor boy who succeeds there will be a feckless middle class layabout who hasn't. You can't have it both ways.Last edited by doodab; 23 April 2013, 11:29.While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

Scotland has most the industry, but the oil isn't in Scotland. It's in the North Sea, and the UK has exclusive rights to it. If Scotland seeks to leave the UK, then why are they all assuming North Sea Oil is theirs?Originally posted by BoredBloke View PostFor 30 years or so and then the oil runs out! I wonder if anyone would even be talking about all this if it weren't for North Sea Oil.Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

See I'm fine with people who make a mint through hard work and/or talent. But I'm not with the likes of Jordan who is suppposed to be worth £45m for having a big set of plastic tits or amy childs. Those people who are famous for fook all!Originally posted by amcdonald View PostTo be fair I don't think people in England are much better. I thought that a core claim of the Scots was that the North Sea oil is theirs when they leave? Although I have not really kept track of this to be honest.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostScotland has most the industry, but the oil isn't in Scotland.
