Maybe that's why he got us in this mess.

Hopefully Blair will die in violent way leaving nothing to bury.

If it was Michael Foot would he be Lying In A State?

I did hear on 5Live last week that it's almost a state funeral possibly due to the Queen and Phil the Greek attending, who have not attended a PM funeral since Churchill.

Apparently when MT was in power she and HM didn't get on that well, but due to MT's declining health in last 10 or so years (same age as HM?) she looked out for her at events/functions and they became quite pally.

Let's see the Thatcher apologists argue against some of this.

They should just wrap her in chains and chuck her in the sea.

George Galloway has started banging on about why Prime Minister's questions should not be suspended tomorrow.

Wasn't Charles Darwin ordered to have a state funeral and burial at Westminster Abbey against his wishes? I believe he waned to be buried somewhere else, but after his death it was decided/ or it was ordered that he should be buried at Westminster Abbey?

Not sure if this story is true...

Anyway what I mean is perhaps Maggie didn't have a choice to decline the offer of a state funeral?

Is it things like baby incubators and malaria nets?

What a delightfully partisan bien pensant you are. I wonder whether you will share the same sentiments with Brown or Blair.
