Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

Been keeping it to three pages for a few years. Third page is primarily one-liners in 8pt type.
I've found that very few people seem to read beyond halfway down the first page, but those that do read it all often have questions about older stuff, and are closely correlated with interesting gigs and good places to work.
My favourite was the first question in an interview the other year: "Could we just go back to your experience as a games developer in the 80s, not because it's relevant, but because it sounds really cool!"Comment

3 pages here. Last page is some useless tidbits about engineering degree and visa status. First page has the most juicy bits and bold words like "AGILE", "SCRUM", "TDD/BDD" to seduce the pimps.I am Brad. I do more than the needful and drive the market rates up by not bobbing my head.Comment

My favorite questions were from a development manager at an investment bank who noticed I was a re-enactor and wanted to know which weapons he should equip his character in WoW with to get through certain types or armour. After we talked for an hour or so he suddenly said:
"Oh, I had better ask you a software question. Erm ... what's a smart pointer?"
I answered and we carried on talking about weapons and armour.Comment

Clients care though. I got a 12 page CV send through to me once; each page covered in sprawling sentences to cover roles, and in pt8 font.Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.
