The Aussie system was discussed on R4 Today proggy this morning. Tax avoidance schemes have to be explicitly approved before people can start using them. Would have saved a load of BN66 grief over here.Comment

The common argument that crime is caused by poverty is a kind of slander on the poor.

There is a fine line between a functioning society correctly pursuing criminals and a world that descends into 'Thought crime', its our job to draw the line.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

For example I get someone to do a one off bit of work for my company. Instead of paying them in cash where they would have to pay tax I reward them in gift vouchers choosing a shop which may sell alcohol but definitely sells other things."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Who needs to call when you can fill in an online form, if they're commiting fraud then then tough tulipe. Unfortunately I don't have the power to stop their benefits would you rather I be more confrontational about it? That's going to end well isn't it? On the other hand at least the rest of the family would stop speaking to me. Hmm you may have given me a great idea thanksIn Scooter we trustComment

The reason not to dob in a neighbour is because some people have mental health issues and disabilities like epilepsy, which due to how people have treated them in the past they make up some other disability to excuse why they aren't working.
I've known a few people over the years say their sibling has one disease to excuse their behaviour but when you speak to the actual person they say clearly they have something else."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
