Well my last stop gap became 10months, and went from a crappy rate to a tolerable one after 3 weeks of exactly that.

Thank you to whoever it was on here who pointed out the thread in Business/Contacts about Jobserve. I could rep you but I'm lazy to scroll back and find the post.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

I put my availability into LinkedIn on Monday.

Yesterday a consultancy I worked with last year asked for my CV.

          a) Quiet market with bogus JS ads (it happens)?
          b) CV smells tulipty for some reason?
          c) Your most recent gig was not a BA role, you are applying for BA roles and most agents are too ******* stupid to read beyond the first role?
          d) There is a conspiracy out to get SY01 and the bastards won't rest until he last lost everything including his mind?
          e) It's been a week you turd, calm the **** down and think seriously if you are cut out for contracting?
          f) Contact AndyWs mother, she'll hook you up.

It's the way to go, I get phone calls based on updates from my linkedin profile. I don't bother with jobserve, as most of the roles are generalised and fishing ploys.

That's how I got this role - updated LinkedIn and someone I worked with 12 years ago rang me and asked when I could start. Hardly spoken to him in the past 10 years (if at all!) but LinkedIn seems to be getting better at this kind of thing.

and that's no reflection on Suity, just that taxes and other living expenses in the UK are so scandalously high.
