I wad told the following by a work colleague but I do not know if it is accurate. Perhaps somebody could cooperate this.
Any new housing development must have a certain percentage given over to social housing. This may be as high as 20%.
What this means is that any new housing development will have undesirables among its populace and so you wouldn't want to live in a new development.Comment

I found one such for my second house which was built on the site of an old nursing home and comprised of only 12 4 bed detached houses
