I'd say it's probably closest to Maplin. Just way nicer.

Not sure if that's for being 'conservative' or for there being no outrageous price difference between online and high street shopping.

True for electricals/appliances in particular. As well as to a lesser extent for most things.

Well they do go crazy at Primark though.
    I hope it's a novelty thing.

A lot of sales assistant jobs, particularly in boutiques and specialist retailers (but no doubt often enough even in supermarkets) are long-term careers for people - quite a few will have done a relevant apprenticeship.

Must be about 10 grand of Japanese electronic stuff in the house, German car in the drive way.

Germany versus Britain - shocking statistics

Saturn-PC in Hamburg is a haven for me, cracking Model Railway section, Fleischmann-tastic!

And helpful staff and Käsewurst at the Mö-Grill stall up Möncheburgstaße, another cracking place.

Love Germany, me, love crossing the road on the red man with no cars for miles and the locals shaking their heads in disbelief!

Was it the Amfel man in East Berlin on the crossings?

I read something in the Guardian about it recently, t'was described as banging techo and rampant group pumping.

              Crazy Germans.

you made a ridiculous claim. now either back it up, learn how to concede an error in a dignified way or cease bothering the good people here with nonsense.
Certainly, have a look at the Shtrafbat:

They were often sent into battle unarmed, or with sticks to mimic rifles
                Source: Tolstoy (1981)

So your claim that there is no evidence anywhere that Russian soldiers were sent into battle unarmed is, quite simply, wrong.

I suggest that you learn how to concede an error in a dignified way (for an example have a look how I conceded you were right about the T34 being a superior tank to the Panzer, although you took a very simplified view) or cease bothering the good people here with nonsense.

                Ah ... smug mode

In the Red Army it's braver to retreat.

True, penal units who retreated or failed an objective would meet the anti-retreat troops of SMERSH (yes, it was honestly called that!!) and be shot.
