I reckon you need to have a heart-to-heart with the old man. If your bruv gets out of this lightly, given the profile you portrayed, he will do it again and perhaps on a larger scale.
Some families do 'ave 'em :-) I have someone close to me that makes your bruv looks like a role model. Tough love is the right medicine for people like these, as Lisa said.Last edited by muser; 15 January 2013, 15:58.Comment

When loan people wanted £200 or so up front that day so car wouldn't be repossessed I paid up for him. Bit galling to see him months later when it had all been sorted pissing it up against the wall and he'd made no effort to pay me back.
Took him a few years before he finally decided to pay me back. This was a while ago and £200 was more than a few hours work then for me! junior permie days.
Always remember that - which is why I aint bailing him this time.
Trouble is old man worries. No matter how times I try to tell him to leave him to it he won't.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

One of the reasons we have opted for the offset mortgage is to keep any money he gives us in an account to give it straight back if they need it. I don't feel right committing it to the mortgage or spending it.
Me and PC being in the same position hey... who would have thought that then!!!
But if I didn't take the share, brother would screw the lot. One advantage of me keeping the money also is that its not in the old mans account. He can't seem to appreciate that keeping loads of money in his name is not a great as he gets older.
How anyone can continually sponge off parents is beyond me totally.....
Like I said, he ain't a kid. 43 years old next birthday...Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

No need to watch Jeremy Kyle today. Here's latest instalment of the new soap 'stupid nobheads in the valleys'.
Old man phoned me last night to tell me - it gets worse brother made redundant today. Hmm thought I. It doesn't happen like that overnight especially as I know he works for a large national company.
I also know he wasn't self-employed any longer and got deducted tax at source. Weird. Then I realised - looks like he was on a temp contract via a brolly or similar. Still seems strange to have zero notice though.
So hes even stupider than I thought. Hes not permie, and hes spent every penny in his account every week and saved nothing. Nice one. Complete bell-end.
(BTW - last weeks wages seems to have disappeared already since last Thursday. Approx £700 on beer and fags it seems. Now hes moaning his car needs MOT and he's skint).
Got to pay HMRC £250 a month for 10 months. Even if hes working no way in a million years is he going to pay that.
£72 a week is going to be a shock for him methinks. Knowing him though he won't be arsed to contact jobcentre and will be whining in a few weeks about how skint he is and how everything is so unfair.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

Shouldn't this be in general? There is no question here, just another blog on PC's life.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!Comment

Yep, it's not really relevant to Accounting/Legal is it? That's for contractor stuff...
(I might have kept it there had it not been for the General question 'Anyone got worse sibling than me?'.)"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Maybe. But it also highlights the issues that stupid people should stick to standard permie PAYE employment.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment
