By "traditional" Christian view I presume you mean Catholicism? All the other Christian denominations are young in comparison.

I suggest you have a religious discussion with more than one Church of England Vicar and if you are lucky you may be able to have a discussion with a Rabbi, Imam or another religions' religious scholar. They don't tend to take their Holy Book(s) literally.

Apart from the issue that the CofE is useless and doesn't necessarily believe anything for fear of offending those who disagree, I never claimed they do.

I have to agree he seemed to get singled out for having a go at some regulars and god forbid a sponsor of the site and bang the sockie is gone

For the record if it were a regular I'd not have many problems but the fact is he was a troll purely trying to stir things up and turn it into a personal feud. Some of the points raised were quite reasonable which is why I bothered continuing the discussion in the first place.

Although I don't think any amount of arguing for/against homosexual marriage is going to change anyone's mind about what they think is 'right' unfortunately.

I'm not sure, I think lots of people could be turned (pun intended) in either direction by proper arguments.
