I'd rather have faux-niceness from my waitress than genuine rudeness. Customer service basically IS pretending to care about your customers, after all. A fake smile and getting my coffee cup refilled before I have to ask is far better than a plate slammed on the table by a surly girl who's legged it before I can ask for some cutlery.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishing -
Never realised how easy it is to get a license to carry a concealed weapon in places like Florida.
I must admit I thought guns had to be, at least, kept at home under lock and key, and wasn't aware that people could carry them around.
Just thinking of walking around DisneyWorld and, potentially, 1000s of people packing live firearms. Scary or what?
Completely nuts...Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

I don't know, for me, it's happened about as much as it would happen in the UK had we the same gun laws, if I am being honest. The fact it doesn't happen more often astounds me. When I lived out there, they brought in a cooling off period in that you couldn't buy a semi automatic weapon 'on the day' and had to wait 48 hours.
Didn't stop you being able to buy a revolver or Shotgun though...
Seriously, if you think about 300,000 people, almost, all eligible to purchase as many firearms as they like...Comment

WHS. At least in shops I can ask someone and I get real help. not just a "what? Oh god man can't you read." And the food is at a reasonable price with good portions. People earn their tips in North America..I have yet to tip in Europe.Originally posted by d000hg View PostI'd rather have faux-niceness from my waitress than genuine rudeness. I saw a quote earlier today that there have been 31 school shootings since Columbine in 1999 and nothing has been done.
Compare that to the 1 fecking idiot who tried to put a bomb in his shoe, now everyone flying anywhere gets to put their shoes through an xray.

Went to Texas once. I noticed that about half the vehicles had gun racks in the rear windows with at least one firearm on it!Originally posted by psychocandy View PostNever realised how easy it is to get a license to carry a concealed weapon in places like Florida.

Not used to that. Canada has a lot of guns but some mighty strict rules on how and where to keep and transport them and licencing is strict.
Problem in the USA is there is none of that..and anyone can buy any type of weapon. Wonder what will happen when phaser pistols with a disintegrate setting come out.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

Option 1 most definitely. We have no 2, and all it means is that the criminals have them and we cant protect ourselves.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostIf you had a choice:
1) You can keep your gun, but everyone else who fancies one can have one too
or
2) Guns are illegal, no-one can have one
which would you go for?Comment
