        Just went to KLM:

        Departing 1st Sept returning 15th, 2 people.

Totaalprijs voor alle passagiers EUR 1.218,54

That really is a hefty saving, and with one change at Atlanta.

£990 for two people. That's less than you were quoted for one!

Might end of there myself next year...

Sorry, thought I'd bump this as half the cost of anything else I'd seen.

OH, You need to factor in the ridiculous in/out taxes for the UK -> AMS bit too.

So I see, just checked myself as you only put the AMS -> Miami in your post.

Edit: You can fly LHR-Miami via Atlanta with Delta. Reason it's cheap is that you're not going UK -> AMS ->USA.

And there is no UK --> AMS bit if you catch the train/boat/car

It's saving well over £1k, so I'd use the £1k as either savings, or to make a 3 day trip to AMS and have some fun.

If we go this year, we'll do it this way.

Yes, that was the whole point, to get there and fly direct, or via the UK, which was another option. It's still a shed load cheaper. Get the Chunnel and you'd be in Amsterdam inside 3 hours. Jesus, if you look at it that way, you'd probably get there quicker than most UK airports given our roads...
