So, you knew the answer all along.

Even if it is incorrect. So you think Tata aren't that clever? You just underestimated the opposition.

I hope that is still the case in 10 years.. And not that they set up production there, run parallel for a few years, then stop production in UK and ship in cheaper produced cars from China.....

Hmmm, we'll see how that works. Maybe the lower range models will be shifted, but shifting production of the high end stuff might not work. Apparently in China Zegna shirts are in demand among the wealthier people because they're still made in Italy; it seems high end consumers get emotionally attached to the idea of something being 'genuine' and connected to what they see as its origins. Logically, lots of Chinese Jaguar customers might then decide they only want Jaguars built in Britain. Or worse, they might just stop buying them altogether and buy something German or Italian.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

The whole point in them opening in China was due to the massive costs associated with importing those specific models into the country. I can't imagine for one minute it would be cheap to import a car from China to the UK, as they'd slap a load of duty and VAT on it they're not stupid enough to miss a golden opportunity like that.
